Macksville Wharf River Street, west of Pacific Highway. In years past the river was the road and boats plied this section of the Nambucca River. A Centenary of Federation project has been the establishment of a wharf in the location of the original Macksville Government Wharf.

The Lily Pond between Pacific Highway and Princess Street, Rotary Park provides an ideal spot to relax, walk around the lake or sit and watch the birdlife.
Nambucca Shire Council Chambers, Princess Street, has various art & craft works and interesting items on display including a scale model of the SS Nambucca, which was lost whilst crossing the bar at the entrance of the Nambucca River in May, 1934. Paintings, woodcraft, woven tapestries and the wheel of the illegal immigrant boat ZHOU GAN TOU are also on display.

Oyster Farming is a growing industry in the stretch of Nambucca River between Macksville and Nambucca Heads. Nambucca oysters fetch top prices at the Sydney markets and are exported.
