Half way between Sydney and Brisbane on the NSW Mid North Coast, Nambucca Heads provides the perfect coastal retreat for the many conferences and conventions.

 

Our sub-tropical climate, with average temperatures ranging from 19C in winter to 27C in summer, provides perfect conditions at any time to enjoy our 20km of beaches and 47 km of inland rivers.   The hinterland of sub tropical forests provides the ideal escape to tranquillity through the National Parks and State Forests surrounding the valley.

 

As a long established holiday destination the Nambucca Valley is renowned for providing visitors with exceptional weather, sparkling waters, and warm-hearted hospitality.

The Nambucca Valley has hosted a number of conferences and events with attendances ranging from 100 to 7000 people.  Most recent events include:

VENUE

 

The Nambucca Heads RSL Club, situated high on the headland overlooking the Nambucca River estuary and Pacific Ocean provides a panoramic view of the tranquillity enjoyed outside.

 

The Club features the entire infrastructure to ensure a successful conference including: 

  • 400 seat auditorium
  •  full equipped sound stage
  • Catering 
  • Complete office support facilities including fax/ email/photo copy
  • 4 meeting rooms each with 100 seat capacity
  • A selection of lunch and dinner menus available on request. 

Morning Tea can be made from ‘Taste of Nambucca’ Regional Cuisine.

 

Fudge, Chocolates, Macadamia Nuts, Fresh Bakery products, fruit and more.

 

ACCOMMODATION

 

Accommodation can be provided within walking distance to the venue, as well as beaches, river and shops.  Access to full office support for conference delegates is provided either through the accommodation provider or Event Manager.

TRANSPORT

 

Nambucca Heads lies a few minutes east of the Pacific Highway (National Highway 1), halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. Access from the western districts is easily achieved via the picturesque Waterfall Way and New England Highway. 

 

Coffs Harbour International Airport is serviced by three major airlines, Qantas, Virgin and Brindabella and only a 30 minute bus trip away enjoying coastal and forested vistas.  Shuttle buses will be provided to accommodation and venues.

The area is also served by bus and rail.

 

In terms of public transport, travel throughout the Valley is best achieved by bus.  A schedule of sample bus hire fees to various venues and attractions is available on the above listed numbers, for your information.

 

ENTERTAINMENT AND ACTIVITIES

 

Nambucca is a holiday destination well versed in the art of entertainment.  The catchword here is diversity.

 

EVENING

 

The island getaway in the centre of town, the Nambucca Island Golf Club provides the perfect venue for an evening of dining and dancing.  A proposed “Under the Sea” theme night would promise to make the evening a night to remember.  A menu selection is available.

 

The Island is of Cultural significance as are many other sites around the Nambucca.

 

The Pub with No Beer at Taylors Arm offers all the atmosphere for a bush dance, (with assurances the beer is now flowing).  Further information on this attraction is available by contacting the shire Tourism Manager Wayne Lowe (02) 6568 0226.

DAY TRIPS

 

Nambucca Heads offers the day tripper a variety of attractions for conference partners, many within walking distance to accommodation.  Local attractions include:

A suggested activity schedule is provided below, however we will be happy to liaise with the organisers to provide appropriate activities to cater to all needs. 

  • Day Trip: Pub with No Beer – Taylors Arm. This is the pub that started it all for Slim Dusty.  The good news is they now have beer!  4 hour
  • Day Trip: Bowraville – Enjoy the arts and crafts and tea room of Nambucca Valley Phoenix, the great Eliza and Joseph Newman Folk Museum and relax at the Bowraville Recreation Club where you can enjoy a memorable lunch and a quenching ale after your golf or bowls.  4 hours.

ENTERTAINERS

Being situated between two regional centres the Nambucca Valley has access to a variety of entertainers.  Whether you require all the atmosphere of a bush band, a rock and roll dance band or something more formal, Nambucca can provide the entertainer.  Allow sufficient lead time to secure your booking.  Contact the Tourism Manager or the Visitor Information Centre for further information on available entertainment.

Council’s Tourism Manager will work in close association with your Conference Manager to ensure the conference’s success.  Assistance will include:
