510 km north of Sydney. Turn off Pacific Highway at Riverside Drive (southern entrance) or Link Road (northern entrance).
Main Beach Nambucca Heads – Patrolled Summer Holidays & weekends – October to Easter
Turn East into Ridge St at PO then into Liston St – follow to end.

- Public toilets and showers
- Dolphins and whales sometimes close in shore(Spring best for humpback whales)
- Caravan Park on headland; Apartments, units and holiday houses close to beach

Shelly Beach, Nambucca Heads – NOT Patrolled
End of Parkes St – turn east into Ridge St at PO then right into Parkes Street
- A ‘paddling ‘ rather then swimming beach – users must be aware of boats using ramp at southern end
- Very pretty beach – popular with artists and photographers
- Ramp access from car park
- Shade under Casuarinas trees most of day
- Rock platform – Wellington Rock – at southern end of beach (rock pools and shells)
- Boat ramp, BBQ and picnic tables
- Beach fishing and facilities for cleaning your catch
- Public toilets and showers
- Captain Cook Lookout above is great for whale and bird watching – in season
- Sheltered from southerly winds
- Walking tracks to river entrance and Beilbys Beach
- Windsurfing and board riding– take lessons with Trent Munro Surf Academy or Scotts Head Surf School -

At Main Beach headland turn into Newry Street and then into Ulrick Drive – follow to end

The Glen, Nambucca Heads –NOT Patrolled
This is a river beach close to the entrance of Nambucca River at the end of Wellington Drive.
Swimming on the out-going tide at the river entrance V Wall area is extremely dangerous and should not be contemplated!

1km off highway on Riverside Drive -1st street on Left (road to Island Golf Club) this riverside beach has been popular with families for many years.

10km north of Main Beach Scotts Head – access only by boat, beach walk or 4WD from Scotts Head (Driving Permit required). This is the beach at the southern mouth of Nambucca River.
